This was the temperature reading in the van on the way to school this morning. We are a full 15 degrees below normal temperatures here and it is shocking! Definitely feeling like fall!
BUT, we didn't bring any heavy coats here and we haven't even thought of digging out winter clothes to see what fits and what may be needed. Well, we did that in a flurry this morning! Alayna was so excited to wear "Winter" clothes because they have been on a shelf in plain view and she has been told almost daily, "No, you will suffocate or suffer heat stroke if you wear that today! Lets pick out some summer clothes!" Riley had a field trip today and was allowed to wear jeans, so that helped. He must have grown a foot this summer, because nearly every long sleeve shirt I took out of the closet was way too small for him!
We managed to find something warm for each of them, and it warmed up nicely as the day went on (into the low 60's). We swore we would not complain about being cold here for at least 2 years, so as I said, I am not complaining, just documenting the weather patterns! We will be glad when it gets back to normal next week! Riley had a baseball game last night and we needed blankets to keep warm because none of us had enough sense to wear the right clothing! I suppose that is my fault as the mom! We hope everyone at home is staying warm and enjoying the fall colors. We wish we could box up a few degrees and send them your way...except we don't have any to spare today!!!

Just documenting the weather patterns! You are such a nurse!! Hope you are having a good week...see you Friday?
Love,
Kate
You do realize I stopped reading after the 44 deg. picture! If I could stick my tongue out at you I would! But then again I'm not complaining either hehehe
I remember the cold in Arizona. It's a different kind of cold than here in Iowa. I don't know if it's the same in Florida. Arizona's 60's feels like Iowa's 40's. I don't know why that is. I'm not alone. Others have said the same thing.
I love reading your blog Travis!!! :o) I check it daily!
I hope you aren't wanting any sympathy because I am definately NOT giving you any! The overnight low here was 25 and I was freezing! Tom said I am a whimp and a ND girl no more. What can I say? Iowa ruined me. My kids are constantly complaining that they are cold. Guess I'd better get out the hats, gloves, and coats. Oh, yeah, I gave those to Goodwill before the move. darn! Now I have to shop!
Finally, eh? :)
'k, not to point out the obvious, but your "two year" time period before complaining may be completely unrealistic. If you recall, when you came my first Christmas in Thailand (six month mark also!), you were wearing shorts and T-shirts while I froze in long sleeves and jeans!!! There is no timeline on become acclimated to the temperature. You will definitely FREEZE when you get here next Thursday, though!! hee, hee. Not that I'm either sadistic or counting down. Love you!
